NYU Entrepreneurs Festival

In 2016, I was fortunate to be elected co-president of the NYU Entrepreneurs Festival. As one of the largest student-run entrepreneurship festivals in America, NYUEF was in its 6th year when I started planning it with an amazing team of faculty, administration, and students at NYU. The site (regularly updated for each festival each year) can be seen here.

Story

Timing | The NYU Entrepreneurs Festival took place on March 3 and 4, 2017. We started planning the festival in July of 2016.
Themes | Each festival focused on different themes. We settled on that idea of owning your path. It is this cyclical motion of creating insights, generating impact, and continuously innovating that drove entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially minded people to be at the festival in the first place.
Event | The weekend comprised of 3 awesome keynotes by Scott Harrison of charity:water, Carley Roney of TheKnot and Rent The Runway, and Jonathan Teller of eos. We also had 6 panels on the following topics:
    1. Startups in School: Just do it! Starting your Startup While at NYU
    2. Social Ventures: Business for the Greater Good
    3. Other Side of the Table: What Do VCs Look For?
    4. Living on the Frontier: Bringing Disruptive Technologies to Market
    5. Beyond the Classroom: Innovations in EdTech
    6. There's an App for That: Can Tech Transform Health Care?
The festival also had a series of rountables, workshops and a venture pitch competition

Results | We had to use unique marketing methods to gain an audience, but at the end, we had just over 1000 attendees over the 2 days. We sold on Eventbrite, saturated the team's Instagram and Facebook accounts and built our site on Squarespace for quick updates
